The Barbecuer’s Bible

In the beginning was the wood
And the wood was good
But man burnt the wood
And cinders entered the world.

Because of cinders,
Much bull was sacrificed around the wood
And global warming loomed.

Man thought his burnt offerings were well done
But God preferred a rare sacrifice,
So He sent His only Son Jesus
To save man from cinders.

“Believe in Me” Jesus said
“And I’ll give you My Spirit”
which translated means
“Now you’re cooking with gas.”

And the gas was good
But man didn’t refill the bottle
And the gas ran out
And man’s spirit withered
Because he was hungry
And there was no wood.

So man learnt to be filled with the Spirit
So his flame didn’t die
And cinders left the world
And global warming was averted.
